Graphic Designer

Art and design are my life, passion, and inspiration. As a child I was always drawing, and that love for drawing soon expanded into a love for art. Throughout middle school and high school, I experimented with many different mediums. As my curiosity and passion for art and design grew, I decided to major in graphic design. While in college, I discovered the art of web design along with the language that comes with it. Because of this, I have found a new appreciation for new media and digital works of art.

For me there are two different forms of art: analog and digital. The beauty of both is that they are interactive, however analog allows viewers to hold my work, and digital allows it to reach the masses. As technology advances, I find myself experimenting with new digital mediums like projection mapping and augmented reality. I like to keep in mind how people will view my designs because their opinions could vary based on advancements in technology. Audiences could be viewing it on a phone, a TV, or on a computer. Because the number of screens we have access to will increase, knowing how to adapt is a must. Being from the digital age, my work is usually vector based; however, I still love putting pencil and ink to paper when given the chance.

My inspiration for my art comes from my African American culture as well as my personal experiences. Through my work, I highlight the beauty and culture that comes from our bodies. I want my work to show the victims of injustice that they have a voice, and that voice will be heard. With my art, I hope to leave a lasting impression on people from all walks of life. When people see my work, I want it to move them and make them take action. I strive to make work that will give others hope and create a better future. I do not aim for money or fame, instead I hope to inspire, inform, and influence. I want my work to leave a mark on this world.
