2020 Calendars

These calendars were designed using an overlapping grid style. I challenged myself during this project by using a predetermined layout and set of images. Playing with type I created this set of calendars for the month of January, February, and March.

Mom Booklet

This was a short biography that I wrote and designed that highlighted moments in my mother’s life and the impact she had on her children. I played with images and alternative ways to keep track of the pages in the book without using numbers. I utilized a heart to signify progression in the book. As you turn each page the heart in the bottom corner becomes whole.

Money Design

These are a series of bills that I created for a fictional country in the EU. I wanted to create a design that highlighted woman of color and utilized African styled patterns within the bills.

Little Discoveries Shopping Bag

This was a shopping bag I designed for a Toy Store. The design was meant to normalize breaking stereotypes and gender roles within society. Children should be allowed to make their own discoveries. This bag shows a boy playing with a doll on one side and a girl playing with a truck on the other.

This was a clothing tag design I created for a repurpose clothing shop. The concept was that, after you buy the clothes from the shop, you can then bury the tag and grow a flower from it. I played with laser cutting to create a delicate top tag and added foiling to the bottom tag as a fun surprise. Both tags featured a flower design to tie back to the alternate use of the tag.

Kaleidoscoops

This was a menu design for the ice-cream shop “Kaleidoscoops”. I played with type and mirroring different names of ice-cream flavors featured on the menu. I also utilized a multicolor pattern within a hexagon to give it a kaleidoscope feel.

Native American Folktale

This book was an adaptation of the Native American folktale “Ten Little Prairie Dogs”. After reading the folktale I created my own illustrations to tell the story and put it together to create a children’s book.
